Go-to: Emerald Green

One of my favorite colors for the fall season is this rich emerald green. It is completely flattering on everyone.
Also I love how comfy and basic some fall looks can be! Its as simple as a blouse jeans and some neutral boots! These boots are the perfect fall staple and I can tell I will be wearing them a lot! They fold over to a shorter under the knee shaft and fold up to be over the knees! When purchasing a pair of boots that are a good leather and I know will last a long time it since to have that kind of versatility!

I am finally starting to feel better after my dreaded tonsillectomy and some fun fall looks are on their way!

Hope you enjoy this casual look and Happy Fall!

Fall Manicures

Don't we all just love a good fall mani? Something about the cool weather and the cozy sweaters get me so excited for dark nail colors. In the summer it seems that I am a lot more playful with my manicures. But when the chilly seasons roll around its all about simplicity for me.
I have teamed up with Julep to talk about some of my favorite fall nail trends!
This chart showing how to take your summer colors to fall is absolutely perfect!

A couple of my go-to colors this fall are:

-Roc Solid
- Alaina
And a couple of my favorite trends to add to these colors:
-Matte Topcoat
-Simple Stripes
-Triangle Bases (Like I have done in my Mani here!)
Have fun with your nails this season and don't forget to stop by Julep for more inspiration! Also I would love to hear your favorite colors and trends of course! So make sure to share with me in the comments! :)

I shot this look back before my surgery and when the weather was a lot cooler!
We got a small taste of fall for a few weeks and ever since it has basically been July here! Talk about confusing!
But thats one of the very reasons I am just so in love with the "around the waist" trend! Not only am I obsessed with how it looks but how convenient is it?! Especially when you live somewhere as weather temper mental at Utah!
A couple tips on what to tie around your waist:
-Don't be scared of mixing patterns! A floral top and a plaid button up or mix in some polka dots or stripes! Skies the limit!
- Doesn't just have to be a button up. Use light sweaters and Cardigans! Madwell has some great examples of this!
Hope you enjoy this look &&& I hope this fall weather comes back ASAP :)

Pumpkin Spice Smoothie Recipe

If you are like me and my family, the moment the weather cools for a second.. its time for PUMPKIN!! And I mean pumpkin everything! Bread… Donuts… Coffee… Decor… Candles… you know how it goes right?
So what better blog post on the first day of Fall than PUMPKIN!!
If I had it my way I would have about 9 Pumpkin Spice Lattes from Starbucks a day. But…. seeing as that I would probably gain 50 pounds over the season I had to come up with a healthier and JUST as Yummy treat!
And my Pumpkin Spice Smoothie is just that. It is so yummy and under 200 calories!
I will be having one for breakfast everyday I am sure from now until summer :) and maybe lunch too :)

You will need:
1/4 Cup Pure Pumpkin Puree
1 Vanilla Flavored Light and Fit Greek Yogurt (the 80 calorie one)
1/4 Cup Non Fat Milk
1/2 Cup Ice
Pinch of Pumpkin Pie Spice Seasoning (Spice Section of the Grocery Store)
Cinnamon, and Nutmeg to taste
Optional additions…
Chia Seed
Flax Seed
Vanilla Whey Protein
This is for one serving! You may add more milk and/or ice to reach your desired consistency!
I would love to hear how you all like it!

Madewell in SLC!

I am so thrilled that there is now a local Madewell! I first came across the store I want to say 6 or so years back in SOHO, New York.
They have so many good basics not to mention the best denim! I have been shopping online ever since.  I am always a sucker for good basic pieces that have a little bit of a twist to them and that's just what Madewell has. So many great tops and sweaters that you can mix and match and layer.
In this look I am wearing this fun top that almost looks as if its a baseball tee but is a little different because of the stripes! This color caught my eye immediately for the fall season and also comes in a light grey! It was also a rainy day so a messy fish tail braid was the best way to keep this hair under control!
It is still warm enough weather to mix mini skirts and shorts with our layered tops! I will be trying to take advantage while I can!
Hope you enjoy this look and don't forget to stop by Madewell at Fashion Place Mall when you get the chance!!

Shorts For Fall

Today I just wanted to talk about styling shorts for fall! Fall is so fun because you get to mix and match so many pieces because the weather is (temporarily) perfect here in Utah!
A fun way to start with styling your shorts for fall is find thicker materials to start with. I love finding tweed shorts or there are even some really fun wool shorts out there! The tweed and wool also transition so great into fall with a thick tight.
Then of course instead of pairing with your usual tank or tee, throw on a fun 3/4 to long sleeve shirt and to get a little sleekness to the look wear a heel! Whether it be a bootie or some fun sandals similar to what I am wearing here.
A floppy hat just completes the look of a cozy fall look!
Also you will notice these fun shorts have some neon in the pattern! Neon is big this fall so don't throw out your bright pieces with the warm weather, you will want to keep it around!!

Must Have Fall White

Sooo… It is after Labor Day and I get the question on my opinion on if wearing white afterwards is ok.. and the answer is YES! PLEASE please wear white all through out fall and winter and whenever else your heart desires!
You can honestly never go wrong with white, it is so chic and pretty much perfect for any occasion.
My favorite ways to style white this fall is in a monochrome look (everything white) or just pair white with some of this fall's hottest colors if going all white is too daring for you! Colors like wine, cranberry, emerald green, red, and of course black.
Below I have linked up some of my favorite pieces this fall, and in all price ranges.
But they key pieces to have in your closet are:
1- White Sweater. Wear it with shorts and booties in the warmer fall months and then with skinnys or even a skirt and thick tights when it gets chilly.
2- White Accessories. Will Brighten up any outfit, and will look great year round.
3- Booties or Pumps. Essential for that monochromatic look! Plus they will look great with some fall color skinny jeans as well!!
4-White Jacket/blazer/coat- Perfect for layering in the chilly months. Don't be afraid to layer over other white tops! Even doing a white camisole with a colored cardigan and top it off with your warmer white piece creates the perfect fall combo!
5- Last but most definitely not least… A pair of white jeans! I am loving skinnys and straight legs for this season. I am on the hunt for the perfect straight leg as we speak and plan on cuffing them with booties and then when we get snow they will be perfect tucked into boots!
Check out my faves here… the photos at the bottom of the page will take you directly to the items site!
Hope you enjoy and tag me in your style white looks! Cant wait to see!

Tulle Skirts For Fall

Fall is one of my favorite times of year for fashion.  I love mixing and matching pieces that are summery and pairing them with a fall piece. And one of my favorite combos is a summer or spring skirt specifically paired with a plaid shirt!
So don't pack your summer favorites away just yet… Instead of wearing a tank, pair skirts with a blouse, or a blazer! And pair your cute shorts with some booties and a drapey cardigan!
And of course you can never go wrong mixing some of your favorite tanks with skinny jeans and a fun pump!
With this post I decided to go a little extra feminine and wear a fun tulle skirt. And let me just tell you. I have seen so many tulle skirts around and even own a few myself.. But never have I seen one this beautiful!! These skirts are so full and dreamy in person!!  Not to mention they are made to order so you can order any length and color combination! Getting a matching skirt for Isabella only seemed fair :)
